Wiseman Studio Newsletter, April 2024

The winter has given way to spring, with the studio completing a number of long term projects and launching new ones. David has been making several new works, including branch-inspired projects, mirrors, furniture, and other pendants, to name a few.

We are very happy to have launched a partnership with Inner City Arts, an organization based in Downtown LA that provides arts instruction for underserved youth communities. We began this winter term with a studio visit for a group of high school students as part of a sculpture class. The engagement continued with David guest teaching the class. The studio will be casting student projects in bronze in the coming weeks. This is a wonderful new opportunity for us to open the doors of the studio and share the many possibilities for a life in the arts with a group of aspiring young students.

David has just completed a dynamic installation that will be included in Biophilia: Nature Reimagined at the Denver Art Museum from May 5 – August 11, 2024, part of which is the Serpentine Jungle Mirror below.

In case you missed it, last fall World of Interiors published an insightful article on David and the studio’s work, included below.

Finally, last week we opened our inaugural Wiseman Studio Staff Exhibition, Overtime, to share the remarkable creativity of members of the studio team. The exhibition will be on view in our gallery until the end of the month. If you're in the neighborhood and would like to come for a visit, please email to make an appointment.

Best, Ari and David
